Areas of competence
- Research: over 20 years experience as a consultant or an associate researcher in applied research in livestock breeding, nutrition, health, economics and policy in Switzerland, India, Bhutan and the Greater Mekong Sub-Region (GMS).
- Value chain analysis: ten years experience as a consultant in livestock (cattle, buffalo, horses, poultry, and swine) value chains in the GMS. Regularly invited (by OIE, CIAT, ACIAR) at workshops and consulted as an expert in cross-border commercial movements of cattle and buffaloes in the GMS.
- Sub-sector analysis: strong experience in regional and national livestock or animal related sub-sector analysis (dairy cattle, horses, goats, poultry, freshwater fish farming, animal vaccines, and wildlife trade) in the GMS, Vietnam, Laos, Bhutan and India.
- Project Management: three years experience as a manager and technical adviser of a national cattle and horse breeding project in Bhutan.
